How we check domain availability
When you search, we normalize what you typed: letters go to lower case, spaces are dropped, and names in other alphabets are converted to the form the registries use. Then we ask the registries for the exact extension you typed, followed by the extensions most people buy, in batches. Results appear as they arrive, so the first rows show within a second or two and more load as you scroll.

What each availability status means

We never mark a name as available unless the registry said so. If a check fails, we tell you instead of guessing.

Why availability can change between search and checkout
Availability is a live state. Another buyer can register the same name minutes after you searched it, and a name in the final days of deletion can become available at a set hour. That is why your cart checks every domain again before payment. If a name was taken in the meantime, the cart tells you and you pay nothing for it.

A name shows as Taken but there is no website
Many registered domains have no site. The owner may use the name only for email, keep it for a future project, hold it as an investment or have let it lapse but not yet expired. You can find out who holds it with a domain owner lookup, check whether it is close to expiry on the expired domains page, or try a variant.

Tips when your first choice is not available
- Try the same name on another extension that fits your use, such as .co, .io or .app
- Add a short word that describes what you do, like get, try, use, hq or app
- Drop a letter or a plural only if the result is still easy to spell
- Avoid hyphens and digits unless they belong to your brand
- Search the variants together and compare their renewal prices in one view

Is this domain availability check live?
Yes. Each search asks the registries directly. Results are kept for about a minute to keep the search fast, and your cart checks again before you pay.
Does searching a domain reserve it?
No. A search does not hold the name for you, and nobody else can see what you searched. Register the domain when you are sure, because availability can change.
Why does a name show Premium?
The registry has set a special price for that name, usually because it is short or a common word. The premium price is shown in the row before you add it to your cart.
Can I check many names at once?
