Why there is no free plan
Free naming tools are free because the names are not checked. That is the whole economics of the category, and it is what we are refusing to do.
Every row costs a lookup
A run of eight names is eight live queries against a registry. That is a real cost per result, and unlike a static wordlist it does not get cheaper with scale.
A free tier would have to cheat
Either we cap the checks, which breaks the one thing the product does, or we pad the list with names you cannot have, which is what every free generator already does.
Paid keeps the filter honest
When the business model does not depend on volume of impressions, hiding a taken name costs us nothing. That is why the filter is on by default and the taken names stay struck through.
The console is the free part
You can run the tool on this site, against the real registry, without an account or a card. What a plan buys is doing it at volume and keeping the results.

No. The console is the free taste and it runs real registry lookups without an account. Beyond that every plan is paid, starting at $39 a month, because each row costs us a live query. A free tier would mean rate limiting the exact thing the product is for, or padding results with names you cannot have.
One run of the console, which returns eight candidates and checks each of them. Re-running the same brief in a different style is a second generation, because it is a second set of names and a second set of lookups.
Generation pauses until the month rolls over or you move up a plan. Nothing is deleted, your shortlists stay where they are, and availability checks on names you already have keep working.
Yes, at any time, from the account. Moving up takes effect immediately, moving down at the end of the period you have paid for. Cancelling leaves your shortlists readable and exportable.
Because it includes work done by a person. Approaching the holder of a name and negotiating for it is a service with hours in it, and unlimited generation and value monitoring sit on top. It is buy side only: we act for you, never for a seller, and NameBest lists nothing for sale. If you only need names nobody owns yet, Founder or Studio is the right plan.
