Terms of service

The terms that govern your use of NameBest, the platform that combines domain registration, a marketplace, and auctions in one account. Last updated: June 2026.

Acceptance of these terms

By using namebest.com or signing up for NameBest, you agree to these terms of service. If you are acting on behalf of an organization, you agree on its behalf and confirm you are authorized to do so. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Registering, buying, selling, or bidding on a name is also governed by the specific agreements, registry policies, and registration terms that apply to that name, which prevail over these website terms where they differ.

What NameBest is

NameBest is a domain name platform. It is a registrar, where you can register available names and pay the yearly fee to keep them. It is a marketplace, where owners list names for sale and buyers make offers. And it runs auctions, where expired, dropped, and premium names are bid on in public. Every name carries an AI appraisal, and aftermarket purchases settle through escrow.

An appraisal is an estimate and decision support only. It is not a valuation, an offer, or a guarantee of sale price or resale value. Domain values move, names can sell for far less than an estimate suggests, and many names never sell at all. You are responsible for the names you register, buy, list, and bid on, and for the prices you agree to.

Your responsibilities

When you use NameBest, you agree that you will:

  • Provide accurate registrant and account information, and keep it up to date. Inaccurate registrant details can put a registration at risk under registry rules.
  • Comply with the registry and registrar policies that apply to any name you register or transfer, including dispute policies and any lock or transfer waiting periods.
  • Only list names you actually own and have the right to sell, and honor a sale, an accepted offer, or a winning bid once it is made.
  • Pay for what you register, buy, or win, and keep your registrations renewed if you want to keep the names.
  • Not register or use a name in a way that infringes someone else's trademark or other rights.

Acceptable use

NameBest is for people and organizations acquiring, holding, and selling domain names in good faith. You agree to use the service responsibly and to comply with all applicable laws.

You agree not to use the service to:

  • Register names in bad faith, or in a way designed to infringe or extort the holder of a trademark.
  • Bid on your own listings, place bids you do not intend to honor, or otherwise manipulate an auction or an appraisal.
  • List names you do not own or cannot transfer, or misrepresent a name, its traffic, or its history.
  • Attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the service, or to circumvent its limits.
  • Use the service for fraud, money laundering, or any purpose prohibited by law.
  • Resell or redistribute the service except under a written agreement with us.

Registrations, transfers, and renewals

Registering a name creates a registration for a fixed term, not permanent ownership of the name itself. You must renew a registration to keep it. If a registration lapses, the name may enter a grace or redemption period, be auctioned, or drop back to the public, in line with the applicable registry rules. Transfers are subject to registry lock periods and to authorization from the current registrar. We work to complete registrations, transfers, and renewals reliably, but registry systems are outside our control and we cannot guarantee that a specific name will be secured.

Marketplace, auctions, offers, and escrow

On the marketplace and in auctions, the contract to buy is between the buyer and the seller. A listed price, an accepted offer, or a winning bid is binding on both sides, and we may charge a commission to the seller when a name sells. Aftermarket purchases run through escrow, where funds are held until the name is transferred to the buyer. We facilitate the transaction and the transfer; we do not warrant a seller's title beyond the checks we perform, and we do not guarantee that any listed name will sell.

Your content and data

As between you and us, you keep all rights to the data you submit and to the names you hold. You grant us only the limited permission needed to provide the service, including displaying your listing to buyers and submitting registrant data to registries. Our handling of account details, registration data, listings, bids, offers, and payment information is described in our privacy policy.

Accounts and access

You must provide accurate information when you sign up and keep any credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account, including bids placed and offers accepted. Tell us promptly if you believe your account or access has been used without your permission.

Fees, billing, and refunds

Every account is paid, and you pay for what you use. Registration fees are charged for the term of the registration and renew unless you cancel. Buyers pay the agreed price on a marketplace or auction purchase, and sellers pay a commission when a name sells. Membership, where you choose to take it, is billed on the term you select and renews until cancelled. All prices and charges are in US dollars. Registration and renewal fees are paid on to registries and are generally non-refundable once a name is registered, and completed aftermarket purchases are non-refundable except where required by law.

Service availability

We work to keep NameBest available and performing well, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update, change, or temporarily suspend features to maintain and improve the service. Auctions, drops, and registry systems run on external timing that we do not control.

Intellectual property

NameBest, including its software, models, interface, content, and brand, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service in accordance with these terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the service except as expressly permitted. The names of other companies and products referenced on this site are used for identification only and remain the property of their respective owners.

Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Appraisals are estimates and we do not warrant that they are accurate or that any name will sell, sell at a particular price, or hold its value. We do not guarantee that a back order, bid, or registration attempt will succeed. You are responsible for your own buying, selling, and investing decisions.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, NameBest and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service, including any loss in the value of a domain name. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in fees and commissions in the twelve months before the claim.

Termination

You can stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms, fail to pay, or use the service in a way that risks harm to other users or the platform. Terminating your account does not by itself cancel a registration, a binding sale, or a bid you have already placed.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. When we make material changes we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [governing jurisdiction], without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except where a separate agreement with you specifies otherwise.
