How to register a domain at NameBest

To register a domain, search for the name, add an available result to your cart, create your account at checkout, enter the registrant details and pay. The domain is yours for one year, renews automatically and comes with WHOIS privacy, DNS and forwarding included.

Register a domain step by step

1. Search for the name

Type a name or a full domain into the search field on the domain search page. You see every extension in one list, each with its status and with the first year and renewal price side by side.

2. Add the domain to your cart

Click Add to cart next to an Available result. You can add several domains before you check out. If the name you want is Taken, read how to buy a taken domain for your options.

3. Create your account at checkout

Click Checkout. If you are not signed in, a short window asks for your email address and a password, then for the 6 digit code we send to that address. Your cart stays saved the whole time. Details are in create a NameBest account.

4. Enter the registrant details

The registrant is the legal owner of the domain. Choose a person or a company and fill in the name, address, phone and email. Use details that are true and current, because ICANN rules require it and the registrant is the one who can claim the domain in a dispute.

5. Pay and register

Check the summary, which shows the first year price and the renewal price for each domain, then click Pay and register. Once the registry confirms, the domain appears under Domains in your Dashboard with auto renew on.

6. Verify your registrant email

Right after registration we send a verification link to the registrant email address. Click it within 15 days. If you skip it, the registry can suspend the domain until the address is verified. See verify registrant email.

What every new domain includes

  • WHOIS privacy where the registry allows it
  • DNS management with A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT and SRV records
  • URL forwarding with 301 or 302 redirects
  • Custom nameservers, transfer lock and auto renew with reminder emails

The domain was available but the order failed. What now?

Sometimes another buyer registers the same name a moment before your order reaches the registry. In that case the registration fails and you get a full refund for that domain. Read the domain refund policy.

Why does an .ai domain show a two year minimum?

The .ai registry sells registrations for at least two years. The minimum term appears in the result and in your cart before you pay. More on the .ai domain page.

Can a company be the registrant?

Yes. Choose Company in the registrant form and enter the company name. The company then owns the domain, which helps when staff change.
